The business plan writing bootcamp is a hands-on workshop designed to guide you through creating a basic business plan over the course of a two-day workshop. Developed for entrepreneurs and business owners of existing and startup businesses, these business plan writing workshops have a singular goal:

To provide an agenda-driven, guided environment for you to
quickly develop an effective, basic business plan in a short period of time.

The workshop is based on agile business concepts, designed to help you identify the earning potential of your idea and bring the idea quickly to market without expending unnecessary time, money, and energy in developing the business. Business plan writing workshops are held in San Francisco, Oakland and the Bay Area, California.

Setting

In a relaxed, stress-free setting with a small number of like-minded entrepreneurs, you’ll write your plan under the personal guidance of an experienced business plan developer. You’ll be guided through a specific agenda with the goal of developing each section of your plan by the end of the workshop. Regardless of the size of your business or where you are in the launch process, the workshops are designed to walk you through each relevant chapter of an agile business plan as it relates to your business. You’ll write the basic premise of each of these sections:

  • The Business Idea
  • Products and Services
  • Marketing
  • Management and Operations
  • Financial Forecasts (12-month and 3-year)
    • Sales Forecasts
    • Profit and Loss
    • Cash Flow
    • Balance Sheet

We see many business plans that are fully thought through—until it comes to the financial section. For this reason, we spend a large percentage of the workshop helping you understand and develop realistic financial projections.

Additional Information

  • Workshops are taught in a conference room setting using Business Plan Pro software by Palo Alto Software. After years of testing, we’ve found this software to be the best business planning software available for business owners and entrepreneurs. Our workshop instructors are experts in Business Plan Pro. You’ll be guided through using the software during the workshop.
  • Workshop participants use laptop computers to write their business plans. You can reserve a laptop (with Business Plan Pro pre-installed) for the two-day workshop at an additional cost of $189. You are welcome to bring your own laptop to the workshop, but you must have a current version of Business Plan Pro installed on the laptop. If you do not already own the software, you may purchase the software during registration for $79.95, a 20% discount off the retail price of $99.95. If you elect to purchase the software, you’ll receive an email with download instructions. Please install the software to your laptop prior to the first day of the workshop. The current version of Business Plan Pro that is used in the workshop is the 15th Anniversary Edition. Business Plan Pro is a PC-only software application. You must have a copy of Business Plan Pro in order to work on your business plan file in the future.
  • During the workshop, you will save your business plan file on a USB memory stick that will be provided to you. All participant’s business plan files are deleted from the training computers after each workshop.
  • If you’ve already created a business plan using Business Plan Pro that you’d like to use during the workshop, you may bring your file on a CD, USB flash drive, or external hard drive. Business plans created using software other than Business Plan Pro are not supported in the workshops.
  • A second person from the same company may attend at a discounted cost of $195.
  • A wireless Internet connection will be available for your use during the workshop.
  • You’ll be provided with a detailed information sheet immediately upon registering for the workshop. The information sheet includes instructions on how to prepare for the workshop, what to bring, directions to the workshop, and contact information.

Terms and Conditions

  • Cancellation notifications must be provided to us via email. Refunds are allowed up to three days before the start of the event. A 20% refund fee will be applied. No refunds are allowed on cancellations made three days prior to the start of the event. Refunds cannot be provided for registered software.
